This season, adidas Originals has worked with iconic Japanese luggage brand PORTER on a brand new collaborative collection of accessories and footwear. Since 1962, PORTER has been the central brand of Yoshida & Co., which was originally founded in 1935 by bag craftsman Kichizo Yoshida. Ever since, it has been established as one of the world’s leading luggage manufacturers, best known for its distinctive glossy nylon padded fabric and signature orange linings. For this collection, adidas Originals and PORTER unite trademark elements of their respective brands, recontextualizing their identities in exciting new modes.
 
As might be expected from a luggage collaboration, core to the collection are two standard PORTER bag designs – the 3Way Brief Case and the 2Way Boston Bag. Each bag presents classic PORTER design and material elements with subtle design adjustments by adidas Originals.
 
A perennial PORTER design originally inspired by the iconic MA-1 flight jacket, the 3Way Brief Case is constructed from PORTER’s iconic nylon padding textile and features multiple interior and exterior pockets, as well as interior pen and document holders. As its name suggests, removable exterior straps allow the 3Way Brief Case to be worn as a brief case, shoulder bag or backpack, while a combination of zip on the main room and Velcro + snap button closures on the front pocket ensure belongings are safe and secure.

 
The collaborative edition also features an interior laptop compartment, while the bag’s regular zipper tape is switched out for an exclusive version featuring the adidas 3-stripes, and PORTER’s signature orange lining is redecorated in adidas’ signature blue colorway. Second up, the 2Way Boston Bag features a similar approach in terms of design and construction, made from nylon padded fabric with heavy-duty handles and a removable/adjustable shoulder strap. Interior pockets allow for item storage, finished with adidas Blue lining and contrast 3-stripes zipper tape.
 

Essential to any adidas Originals collaboration, the collection is rounded off with a special take on the timeless Campus silhouette. True to the spirit of the release, the Campus features a premium nubuck construction across the quarter, countered with a toebox and tongue in PORTER’s best selling signature “TANKER” textile. The shoe is offered in PORTER’s trademark black/orange color palette with bold orange serrated 3-stripes marks, finished with collaborative branding on the lateral side, placed atop a classic black rubber sole.
 
Collectively, adidas Originals by PORTER presents the spirit of collaboration in its most authentic form; the coming together of two distinct labels, combining their proudest aspects to create a new expression of classic designs.
